They already including « automative » stuff in cars, pretty soon you wont be
trusted to drive your own vehicle…

Honestly, I do not give a fuck about self driving automobiles. The damn
automobile industry should focus on making electronic cars because gas is
expensive as a whore now.

Or, just like every other device, emergency brake…

I prefer driving myself, theres a few things this sort of stuff can be
worse then someone driving themselves.. hacking, computering malfunction,
etc. I don’t really get this idea of having all these computer stuff doing
everything for you, i can just see we are just gonna be potatoes and having
some sort of technology doing a shit for you, rather then you going to the
bathroom and laying a shit yourself.

Only travel in robot carpools.

Maybe the car should be made so that control is given to the driver in a
situation like that so the driver makes the choice. Because either way,
your automated car just turned into a murderous weapon, either striking
you, or striking 3 other people. Either way someone’s family just got their
lives ruined. So in a situation like that the car should give control to
the driver, maybe even in advance, so the driver can make the decision
himself, and possibly make one that doesn’t involve killing either.

1st we need a car to transport to drive us (understandable)
Now the car will drive us
Oh wait no… In soviet Russia car drives YOU!!

Well, honestly, in my opinion the benefits of self-driving cars far
outweigh any issue. A huge portion of car accidents is due to pure human
ineptitude, where a cool-headed logical action could have avoided the
entire event, thing which computers are able to do. We also assume that a
self-driving car would have the same limitations as humans, which is simply
not the case at all. A computer is far more capable of instant conditional
logic than a human could possibly be. Rarely do these this one dies or the
other situations happen to that extent, where it is unavoidable to end up
with either outcome. Also, we are assuming that the developers have not
thought of any of this yet. It is for a reason that it has been on testing
for several years already.

Self driving cars won’t be around for a while yet. When they come out they
safety of them will be superior to cars now anyway.

You may find yourself in a situation like this in the future. Think about
it…If your self driving automobile finds itself in a precarious situation
who’s life should be sacrificed? Yours or the people in the other vehicle?
That’s a hell of a question to have to ask.

4:44 so this is blowing ur mind? UR LAPTOP MAKES 4,000,000 DECISIONS EVERY
SECOND at least. rich how about this these cars rnt going to be driven by
Kat from halo reach (idk if anyone will get that reference) lol

This would be a great idea if every one was forced to use a car this
advanced cause then there would be no accidents… but since only the rich
would afford it then its a dumb idea because we have idiot drivers all over

I always thought that these cars could be controlled with the steering
wheel in case of emergency.

this is a bad argument. if they have the ability to drive cars on their
own, computers should be able to tell what cars are on the road, where they
are, and the condition/status of these cars. With all that data, the
computers should be able to foresee any situations like this.

I think a lot of people in the comments don’t appreciate how dangerous
driving actually is.
Because of technology (oh noes!) making cars safer in every possible way,
road deaths are down, but the accidents still happen.

And also hackers. And also also, what will become of driver’s licences? If
I ten year old kid can work a smart phone, they would be just as capable of
running this type of genius car. Realistically, however, given expenses,
road transformation, tech development … I don’t see this happening as
soon as you think. Maybe I’m wrong, but … My guess is 2035 at earliest,
if ever. We may find more convenient travel methods before then.

Do we really need cars to drive us places? Sure if you have some sort of
handicap I see why you’d need a car to drive you places, but as humans are
we that lazy to drive? Hell take the the damn bus if you don’t want to
drive. I’m sure it would be cheaper than buying one of these fancy driving
cars.
Don’t trust it.
